Million Dollar Bike Ride Pilot Grants (requires a Barth team)
Penn Medicine Orphan Disease Center
Disease communities field fundraising teams at Penn's annual ride; the Orphan Disease Center then administers a one-year pilot-grant RFP for each participating disease, sized to that team's fundraising plus a Penn match.
No Barth syndrome team has participated to date. A BTHS RFP would exist only if BSF or families fielded a team — after which BTHS researchers anywhere could apply to it.
Researchers apply to disease-specific RFPs (LOI then invited full application); a disease qualifies by fielding a ride team.
A Barth RFP would require BSF or families to register a team for the next ride; any resulting RFP would be posted on the ODC grants page.
