Patient Advocate Foundation (merged with PAN Foundation 2026)
Following the PAF–PAN merger, new financial applications route through TotalAssist as of July 1, 2026: roughly 150 disease-specific and health-equity funds covering medication copays, coinsurance, deductibles, insurance premiums, office visits, and treatment administration. Separately, PAF case management is free to any US patient with a chronic or debilitating illness, and is the main free help available for insurance denials, prior-authorization fights, appeals, and billing negotiation.
Whether an open fund currently matches Barth syndrome changes weekly, so check the fund finder. Case management does not depend on a matching fund and is available regardless.
US patients; per-fund financial and diagnosis criteria. Case management has no fund requirement.
