Barth syndrome work qualifies only under a neuroscience or innate-immunity framing — in practice, the neutropenia angle. A cardiomyopathy-led application does not fit the four areas.

Who can apply

Nomination only — one candidate per selected institution. Independent investigators, preferably within the first 3 years of a tenure-track appointment, at US institutions (citizenship not required). Cannot stack with Beckman/Pew/Searle/Vallee awards starting the same year.

How to apply

Nomination runs through each institution's limited-submissions process, ~September for the following year's class.
